訪問看護師となり、半年が経ちました。
病院で勤務していた頃は、退院前にご自宅の様子を見に行ったり、
訪問看護師の方々との退院前カンファレンスに参加したりする機会がありました。
しかし実際に訪問看護師となり、ご自宅へ伺うようになってからは、
病院では見えなかった生活の場面や、その方らしい暮らしに触れる機会がたくさんあります。
病院とはまた違った視点や学びがあり、日々勉強の毎日です。
写真は、ある利用者さんのお宅で育てられている夏野菜です。
広いお庭にはたくさんの植木が並び、田んぼや畑のお世話も利用者さんご自身がされています。
訪問時には畑で作業をされていることもあり、お声をかけると、野菜づくりのお話や、
植木を庭に迎えた頃の思い出などを聞かせてくださいます。
そうしたお話は、ご家族との思い出や、これまでのお仕事の話へとつながり、
その方が歩んでこられた人生やご家族の歴史に触れる時間にもなっています。
もちろん、歩行状態や呼吸状態などの観察も大切な看護の一つですが、
訪問看護では、その方が大切にしている暮らしや生きがいを知ることもまた大切な役割だと感じています。
これからも利用者さん一人ひとりの生活に寄り添いながら、
好きな畑仕事やお庭のお世話を少しでも長く続けていただけるよう、
お手伝いしていきたいと思います。
